I have written this blog to share my experience of how Community supported me through a very difficult time.
Following an incident at work, I was suspended from my job. A meeting was arranged to discuss the incident, where I was supported by a Community Representative. Although the meeting went well, unfortunately I was dismissed, but with the right to appeal.
The appeal hearing was lengthy, but I had strong support from Community’s Rep and the outcome was that I was offered my job back!
I am very grateful to the Community Reps who supported me at the meetings. Without their professionalism, advice and knowledge, and the backing of my union, I believe I would have had little chance of getting my job back.
